  • 4 x 4 Scenic Drive Tours – Lord of the Rings Site tours.

  • Skiing - Mount Dobson skifield is only an hours drive away, Mt Hutt skifield about 1and 1/4 hours, and Lake Tekapo Skifield slightly further at about an hour and a half.

  • Salmon & Trout fishing - Some of the world's most famous salmon fishing spots on the Rangitata river which is very close, are easily accessible from centrally situated Rivendell, while smaller rivers like the Opihi and around Peel Forest that trout fisherman can enjoy are also very handy.

  • Quaint sayings.White Water Rafting - Also close by on the Rangitata river with two main companies Rangitata Rafts & Hidden Valleys

  • Scenic Walks - Only further up the road at Woodbury, or as close as 15 minutes away to Peel Forest Park which also has picnic areas and forest walks
